In 2008 I graduated high school, I was the most mediocre 3 sport athlete that you could think of... Average speed ( 5.4s ) a trash vertical ( barely could touch rim @ 5'10 ), somehow always missed squats in our football workouts and conditioning wasn't a word in my vocabulary. In 2010 I took my first gym job working as a sales rep at 24 hour fitness in Irvine, Ca. I had been working out for the last 2 years previous but had no rhyme or reason to what I did in the gym. I had just transferred schools switching from my kinesiology major at Vanguard University to sports management at Concordia University Irvine and had no real idea what I wanted to do with it. In early 2011 I was asked to try out for our schools new rugby team which led to realize that I wasn't as "fit" as I thought... After a few years of working out I thought that I would have been a different athlete, but in reality the things I was dong in the gym had no benefit to me athletically. It wouldn't be until I suffered 2 major knee injuries until I realized that I had been doing everything all wrong. In 2012 I got my first certification and began my journey as a coach. 8 years later I have developed a system that transforms average athletes into the most explosive, injury proof players in the area and have sent multiple athletes to college programs and prepared a few for the professional level. My passion is to build better athletes and teach them that they CAN get faster, they CAN jump higher and they CAN change they're bodies.
In 2015 I graduated from grad school with a Masters in Forensic Psychology & Research and started my health/fitness journey about 7 years ago. I hired my first Nutrionist in 2015. #lightbulbmoment After that moment I knew I wanted to coach people in nutrition. Before I ever even considered taking on paying clients I became certified & would write free programs for anyone I could get my hands on. In 2016 I became a certified Master Nutrionist. My program was a year long & I received 5 nutrition certifications in that time frame. I wanted to be as well rounded as possible plus I’m kind of an overachiever. I’ve been coaching ever since. It’s been a long road but I’ve learned you’re not going to know everything all at once. Trial & error are key components to growth. I don’t coach my clients the way I did 3-4 years ago. I’ve become better. My approach is different, my knowledge is greater & I’m always looking for more. My advice to any new or aspiring coach: Never stop pursuing growth. Never be dogmatic in your approach to education. Expand your knowledge beyond things that already fit your belief systems. #freeminds
